Happy Birthday Noah! You are one of my all time favs!!!
She's only 6 years old.
She knows words like cancer, inoperable, chemo, treatments, and brain stem...yet, she smiles. She smiles so big and with all her heart and you just can't help but smile back.
Lexi has just started a more aggresive treatment plan to address the tumors in her brain. Please keep her in your heart and in your prayers. Lexi and her family are traveling back and forth to St. Jude's in Memphis for her treatments. If you live in Magnolia, you have probably seen the donation cans scattered around town in most of the restaurants. They also have an account set up at BanCorp South. They appreciate all of your prayers and donations!
When I was a little girl, my grandparents used to spend the winters with us in South Texas. As a special treat, each of my brothers and sisters and I would get to take turns spending the night with them in their RV - all by ourselves. My grandmother was super crafty and always had fun projects for us to do during our stay. I remember her teaching me how to crochet - and I must've only been 6 or 7 years old! I only learned how to make one very long chain, so long that we would stretch it down the street to measure it! She would spin the long chains and sew them together to make a pot holder, or something of that sort. Its not the end result that I remember the most, it was the time spent together. So, so very special!
My grandmother could crochet much more than straight chains! This is the strawberry shortcake doll that she made for me during one of those winters. I remember playing with it - ever so gently. Somehow I just knew the importance of it. I also knew that I wanted my daughter to play with it someday too. So, this little doll has been packed and unpacked, and moved countless times, waiting for a great-grand daughter to take her out to play.

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine, Jeanelle Caraway, posted on facebook that she was looking for second shooters for a couple of upcoming weddings. I responded immediately...Me, Me, Me! Pick Me, Please! I always jump at the opportunity to learn and to help out a friend. :)
The wedding was at Lake Caroline in Jackson, Mississippi. Whitney and Gabe did an awesome job with all of the details from the food, flowers, decorations, ceremony and music. It was a beautiful wedding, and totally worth the trip out of town to second shoot!
The dress...
More deets. Shoes. Flowers.
This is the *boat house* (where the girls got ready).
This was the first time that I've gotten to shoot a FIRST LOOK. (That's when the bride and groom see each other just before the ceremony, alone, and share a few moments together before everything gets underway.)
Since they did the first look, it also gave us some time to capture a few pictures before the guests arrived.
With her son...
The get-away-BOAT!
Its time for a Hunter & Lily Kate update!
"C'mon Mommy, PUSH ME!" The rope swing is a new addition and the kids couldn't love it any more! The baby swing detaches and a big kid swing can be added. It was a great idea in concept, we just didn't know how much work it would be for Mommy and Daddy. Oh, and the melt downs...LK refuses to get off the swing to give anyone else a turn. We're working on that! :)
But the laughs and screams of delight are soooo worth it! "Go High Daddy, GO HIGH!"
The many faces of Lily...
Two words: Kindergarten - Orientation. *Sigh*
