Prayers Needed...

Seven years old is just too young to know words like brain stem, tumor, inoperable, radiation, chemo.....CANCER.  Its too young, yet this little girl is old enough to know that she is sick.

Its HEART BREAKING and at the same time its INSPIRATIONAL.  She's sick, very sick, yet she's a loving, strong, beautiful child.  She plays, she worries about how she looks, and she gives her parents and sister a hard time...just like a healthy child.  She makes you believe, truly believe, that MIRACLES CAN AND WILL HAPPEN!

If you live in Magnolia, you no doubt have heard of little Lexi Gore.  The money collected from all of the various fundraisers will help her family with the expenses associated with her radiation and chemo treatments at St. Judes Children's Hospital in Memphis.  The coke tabs benefit the Ronald McDonald House.  Updates on Lexi's condition are posted on the "Praying for Alexis Gore" Facebook Page.

She's a sweet girl with a horrible illness.   We all hope that with the love of her family, the prayers of an entire town, and God's will, she will get past this.

CCS Homecoming

Columbia Christian is a small private school here in Magnolia.  Kids from 6 weeks old to High School all attend school on the same campus.  Its a very special place with a strong sense of community.  Hunter and Lily Kate are in the Child Care Center and we are looking forward to Hunter starting kindergarten next year.

With no football team, homecoming is held with the basketball season.  All of the students were there to see the Junior and Senior Maids, and the new 2010 Queen.  I was not the *official* photographer, so I got to have fun catching more of the behind-the-scenes, candid moments.  (Just the way I like it!)

Here are the Seniors Girls, Congrats to Mallory!!!! 2010 QUEEN!!!

Fading Fast...

My normally good attitude is fading fast!  We are on Day 5 of no water here at the Manuel house.  Our pipes froze on Saturday and now we are waiting for the BIG THAW.  Up until now, its been a bit of a challenge...flushing toilets with 5-gallon buckets, washing dishes with water heated on the stove, cooking with bottled water, etc.  But, without this crazy contraption that allows us to take hot showers, I probably would've lost it a long time ago...

Its not a pretty picture, but it works.  I haven't missed a shower...and the water is warm.  I totally take back all of eye-rolling that I did when the hubby purchased this *thing* for his hunting trips!  Its worth every penny!

Tomorrow is another day, and if our pipes haven't thawed out, I'll start collecting quarters for the laundry.
