A Day With My Girl | South Haven, Michigan Photographer

These days the opportunities to play dress up and take pictures are few and far between.  Lily Kate is much more interested in soccer, gymnastics and keeping up with her brother!  With a big birthday (#5) coming up, it was time for a mini portrait session.

Pure Michigan | Summer Vacation | U.P.

Although the whole summer has felt like a 24/7 vacation, we wanted to get a trip in before the kids head back to school. So, last week, we headed North. In four short days we visited Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes (voted the most beautiful place in America in 2011), Munising & Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and Mackinac Island &Mackinaw City. In miles, it was just short of 900 driving, 6 hiking and 8 biking.

I didn't tote my big-girl camera around much, but it did make the 3.5 mi trek (round trip) across the dunes.

Megan Mitcham ~ Magnolia Writer

Meet Megan.  Aspiring writer, Mom, vegetarian, work out queen, expert horseback rider, etc.  The list could go on and on.

So, one day, Megan decided she was going to write a novel.  Bam! Three months later she was finished with the first of a three part series.  Determined, driven, and disciplined are the only ways to describe her.

Well, I might also add...Gorgeous!

What started out as an afternoon session, quickly turned into an adventure.  We lugged a three year old and a hefty collection of vintage books, and a ton of camera gear down a windy trail through the woods and when I saw the spot Megan had scouted out, I knew if was all worth it.

Our little helper for the day, Summit.

She might kill me for posting this one, but this was all part of the adventure!

You can follow Megan on her adventures in realizing her dream of becoming a published writer, check out her BLOG and leave her some comment-love.
